Recognizing Teaching Excellence at UBC Okanagan

The recipients of UBC Okanagan’s Killam Teaching Prize and the Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence and Innovation have been announced.

They are exemplary role models who make significant impacts on the culture of teaching and learning on the Okanagan campus.

Winner of the Killam Teaching Prize is Dr. Christine Schreyer, Associate Professor of Anthropology, in the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

The Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence and Innovation was awarded to three faculty members:

  • Dr. Bill Cohen, Assistant Professor of Education in the Okanagan School of Education;
  • Dr. Julien Picault, Professor of Teaching in the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; and
  • Dr. Gina Whitaker, Lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Social Development. 

These four individuals will be recognized at an awards celebration and reception on the Okanagan campus on May 14.
