This designation is awarded through BC’s Top Employers, an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, recognizing organizations that lead their industries as exceptional places to work. 2026 marks the 21st year of the competition and the 19th year UBC has been selected as a BC’s Top Employer.
Tenure-track faculty authors on both campuses in SSHRC-aligned disciplines are invited to apply for support through UBC’s renewed Scholarly Publication and Open Access funds. Applications for either fund will be accepted any time until funds are exhausted, up to August 31.
This year, 29 faculty members have been named as recipients of UBC’s Faculty Research Awards.This award recognizes the research excellence and scholarly achievements of faculty from across all disciplines, ranging from the applied sciences and medicine to the social sciences and humanities. Award recipients are selected by UBC’s Faculty Research Awards Committee and include early career researchers through to established members of faculty.
