Professor Janice L. Stewart appointed Deputy Provost at UBC Vancouver
It is my pleasure to announce that Professor Janice L. Stewart has been appointed as Deputy Provost for a five-year term, starting May 15, 2024.As Deputy Provost, Professor Stewart will focus on providing strategic leadership and oversight for academic affairs, faculty recruitment and retention, and ongoing faculty relations matters. They will also support the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, UBC Vancouver, in the realization of the university’s strategic academic aspirations.

Open Education Resources Excellence and Impact Award recipients announced
The OER Excellence and Impact Awards recognize outstanding work by faculty in Vancouver and the Okanagan who materially advance the use and impact of open educational resources (OER) in credit courses at UBC.The recipients were selected based on their overall excellence in creating, revising or using OER in teaching and learning; the impact of their OER work on students, including addressing the affordability of educational materials; and their contribution to the greater open education community at UBC.

Apply to the Sustainability Education Fellows Program
Sustainability Education Fellowships are awarded to faculty members at UBC Vancouver who are leading the design of new sustainability courses and programs. Fellows receive funding of up to $20,000 over two years to develop new curriculum and contribute to advancing sustainability and wellbeing education at UBC.The deadline to apply is May 13.Find out more
