A message from Rehan Sadiq, Provost and Vice-President, Academic, UBC OkanaganDear colleagues,I am pleased to announce that the UBC Board of Governors has approved the appointment of Professor Gady Jacoby as Dean, Faculty of Management, for a five-year term, commencing July 1, 2024.Professor Jacoby holds a BA in Economics and Accounting and an MA in Finance from the Hebrew University, as well as a PhD in Finance from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
On March 27, the Board of Governors approved amendments to UBC’s Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy (SC3) and its associated Procedures, effective as of April 2. The policy was amended to fully reflect the annual COI reporting requirements for UBC staff members, as well as address various best practices that have emerged since the last revision.A copy of the approved Conflict of Interest Policy and its associated Procedures is available on the University Counsel website.

41 community-led projects have received $294,385 in funding across UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan, as part of the Strategic Equity and Anti-Racism (StEAR) Enhancement Fund. These projects cover a broad range of topics:
Faculty and staff who self-identify as an individual with a disability, a disabled person, or as having a chronic health condition are asked to consider completing an anonymous 5-minute survey to help develop a course on disability inclusion.The Centre for Workplace Accessibility is creating the disability inclusion course and is seeking feedback from disabled employees by May 13.Learn more
