Announcing the 2024 recipients of the alumni UBC Achievement Awards

The alumni UBC Achievement Awards recognize excellence, leadership, and innovation in achievements and contributions to the social, cultural, and economic wellbeing of society, which positively reflect on the university.

This year, three current faculty members were recognized for their endeavours: 

  • Faculty Community Service: Dr. Jeannette Armstrong, Associate Professor of Indigenous Studies, Department of Community, Culture and Global Studies, Irving K. Barber Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, UBC Okanagan
  • Global Citizenship Award: Dr. Jan Christilaw, Clinical Professor, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine, UBC Vancouver
  • Research and Innovation Award: Dr. William Cheung, Professor, Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries, UBC Vancouver
