Meet the spring recipients of UBC’s 2025 Partnership Recognition and Exploration Fund

July 31, 2025

This spring, the Partnership Recognition and Exploration (PRE) Fund was awarded to 16 inspiring university-community initiatives. These projects show how UBC students, faculty, and staff are developing reciprocal partnerships through diverse teaching and research projects.

Receiving up to $1,500 each, some of the recently funded community-university projects are developing new pediatric nutrition guidelines, fostering greater understanding of Okanagan waterway restoration, remembering Nelson’s once-thriving Chinatown, supporting a Kwiakah-led regenerative forestry initiative, and more.

The PRE Fund aims to boost collaboration and relationship building, as well as support community partners to build reciprocal relationships with UBC faculty, staff, and students.
