In 2020, UBC established the Trans, Two-Spirit and Gender Diversity (T2SGD) Task Force to help provide the university with clear and strategic direction to address gaps in systems, policies, procedures and practices in the area of gender diversity.
The task force was formed in response to a long-standing call for members of trans, Two-Spirit, and non-binary student, faculty and staff communities to be included in the strategic planning of the university. Since its formation, the task force has engaged with students, faculty and staff across both campuses. In 2021, members of the UBC community were also invited to take part in a university-wide Gender Diversity Audit.
