Are you doing things differently at UBC?
May 6, 2024
We want to hear from faculty and staff who are leading the way in generating positive change at the university.
Updated on June 3 to reflect new deadline of June 14
Each year, we run a story series through UBC Today, spotlighting the great work of our faculty and staff community. We recognize that many of you are transforming your respective fields already. This fall, we want to celebrate those faculty and staff members who have the curiosity, drive and vision to do things differently, and who haven’t yet received the spotlight. If you are shaking up how things are done or thinking outside the box, we want to hear from you.
Here are some examples of some of the themes we are interested in:
- Are you using emerging technologies, such as generative AI or extended reality, to enhance teaching, learning and/or research?
- Are you using innovative approaches to improve how you do things in your unit or department?
- Have you made accessibility improvements to help people with disabilities at UBC?
- Are you leading an initiative that supports a social cause and makes a positive impact?
- Are you finding new ways to improve our natural and built environments on your campus?
Tell us how you are driving positive change. If you know a colleague who has a story to tell, encourage them to share their story idea with us for a chance to be featured on UBC Today. The submission deadline is 5pm on June 14.
Preference will be given to individuals whose work has not been profiled anywhere yet. For anyone who is interested in sharing their story idea, please note that our team will be conducting interviews and pursuing photography (if necessary) in June and July 2024.
