Celebrating the 2024 Banting Postdoctoral Fellows

Nine UBC postdoctoral researchers have received Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships.
The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships is a program that provides federal government funding to the best national and international postdoctoral applicants who will positively contribute to Canada’s economic, social, and research-based growth. Fellowships are awarded to post-doctoral researchers who are considered are part of Canada’s next generation of research leaders.
UBC's new Banting scholars are:

- Dr. Jonah Garde: Faculty of Arts, Department of Central, Eastern, and Northern European Studies
- Dr. Zhenwei Ma: Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
- Dr. April Martinig: Irving K. Barber Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, UBC Okanagan
- Dr. Jamie McDevitt–Irwin: Faculty of Science, Department of Zoology
