Equity Enhancement Fund – call for proposals
This message was sent to executive, deans and other senior academic leaders, academic heads, directors and managers, and senior professional leaders in Vancouver and the Okanagan.
November 15, 2021
As part of UBC’s commitment to advancing equity and inclusion across its campuses, faculty and staff are invited to submit a proposal to the Equity Enhancement Fund for projects that are responsive to community needs and advance one or more of the actions outlined in UBC’s Inclusion Action Plan.
Please encourage faculty and staff in your area to submit a proposal by November 29. Up to $15,000 in funding per project is available in Vancouver, and up to $10,000 is available in the Okanagan.
Proposed projects should seek to build more inclusive environments, develop faculty and staff competencies related to issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and should deliver observable benefits to the representation and/or experiences of equity-deserving groups within the UBC community. Proposals by faculty and staff that focus on student inclusion are also eligible for funding.
For more information, to learn about previously funded projects, and to submit a proposal, visit equity.ubc.ca/eef.
If you have questions regarding this fund or equity and inclusion in general, contact eef@equity.ubc.ca.
Student funding update
As of 2021, the Equity Enhancement Fund accepts applications twice per year – in spring and fall – and is intended for UBC faculty and staff only. Students are encouraged to apply to the ongoing Inclusive Initiatives Fund at equity.ubc.ca/iif.
Thank you in advance for sharing this message with your faculty and staff and for encouraging them to get involved and play an active role in building a more inclusive UBC.
