Announcing the 2021/22 Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters Competition

This message was sent to executive, deans and other senior academic leaders, academic heads, directors and managers, and senior professional leaders in Vancouver.

We are pleased to announce the 2021/22 Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters (GCRC) Competition. 

Applications are being invited from both emerging and established clusters of research excellence in all disciplines on the Vancouver campus. Previously funded clusters, as well as new clusters, are eligible to apply to this competition. A notice of intent to apply must be submitted by November 2, 2020. 

Changes have been made to this year’s competition to allow for enhanced trainee stipends. Researchers can learn more at information sessions on October 15 and October 26.

Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters are enabled by the UBC Vancouver Academic Excellence Funds in support of Strategy 6 (Collaborative Clusters) in UBC’s Strategic Plan. You can learn more about UBC’s Strategic Plan at https://strategicplan.ubc.ca/.

    Professor Janice L. Stewart appointed Deputy Provost at UBC Vancouver

Stewart has been appointed as Deputy Provost for a five-year term, starting May 15, 2024.As Deputy Provost, Professor Stewart will focus on providing strategic leadership and oversight for academic affairs, faculty recruitment and retention, and ongoing faculty relations matters.
