Snow

The holiday season inspires all of us in different ways. Whether it conjures up memories or hopes of spending time with your loved ones, cooking seasonal delicacies, curling up with a good book, learning a new skill, or simply pausing to reflect on the year that went by.

A few weeks ago, we asked you – our faculty and staff community – to share a snapshot of what this holiday season symbolizes for you.  A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to send us a photo and share their comments and captions.

And now, without further ado, take a moment to enjoy the unique visual reflections submitted by your fellow colleagues.

elf
Miniature Elf Doors are popular Christmas decorations in Finland. This one is built on the floor, by a baseboard, in a house in Vancouver, yet a Finnish Christmas Elf has moved in and is celebrating the Finnish Independence Day (December 6th) with a blue and white candle.

Tree decoration
This was my grandma's holiday ornament and it was always my favourite one. Now when my family decorates the tree each year, it reminds me of her and the good memories I have of decorating with her when I was a kid and time spent celebrating as a family.
