Call for volunteers to support UBC Vancouver's Spring graduation ceremony

This spring, UBC Vancouver will be celebrating the achievements of nearly 10,000 students over 28 ceremonies on May 25, 26, 27, 30, 31, June 1 and 2. In total, over 25,000 people participate in the spring graduation ceremonies: from graduating students, faculty members, dignitaries and guests.

Volunteers are essential to help welcome and lead participants, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for graduates, faculty, and guests. Get involved by volunteering to support the event. As a volunteer, you will play an instrumental role in making the experience memorable for everyone.

A number of volunteering opportunities are available for faculty and staff. Detailed instructions for each of the key roles needed for the graduation ceremonies are available on the registration page. Find out what you can do to show your support.

A total of 136 teams took part at UBC Vancouver while UBC Okanagan had its biggest Sports Day yet with 270 participants.     Register for the New to UBC Connections Program - UBC Vancouver

    The New to UBC Connections Program is open to faculty and staff in Vancouver in their first year of employment who wish to meet people from outside their faculty or department.The program was piloted successfully in November 2023 and has received a positive response from new faculty and staff.Participants will be matched in groups of three-four and will meet every four to eight weeks to participate in activities or events as a group, based on shared areas of interest.

    UBC’s amended Conflict of Interest Policy (SC3)

    On March 27, the Board of Governors approved amendments to UBC’s Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy (SC3) and its associated Procedures, effective as of April 2. The policy was amended to fully reflect the annual COI reporting requirements for UBC staff members, as well as address various best practices that have emerged since the last revision.A copy of the approved Conflict of Interest Policy and its associated Procedures is available on the University Counsel website.
