UBC is embarking on a search for a new Academic Director, UBC Learning Exchange.

Since its establishment in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside (DTES) in 1999, the Learning Exchange has become a trusted and valued contributor to the DTES community. It has developed a welcoming, informal and lively hub where UBC students, faculty and researchers, and DTES residents and organizations, connect, pursue common interests and learn from each other, in order to increase community and university capacity to bring about positive social change.

The current Academic Director, Dr. Angela Towle, is coming to the end of her third term in the role. As such, UBC is now embarking on a search for a new Academic Director.

The Academic Director serves as the academic champion for the Learning Exchange, taking a lead role in ensuring that the Learning Exchange is linked effectively with UBC's academic mission. In collaboration with the Learning Exchange Director and an expert team of community-university practitioners, the Academic Director will bring their knowledge of the academic enterprise and their disciplinary expertise to build upon and add to current community-university engagement activities.

This part-time secondment role has an anticipated start date of July 1, 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter. Tenured UBC Vancouver faculty members are invited to apply for the position by May 6, 2022.

The position description and details on how to apply can be found here.
