2023 UBC Teaching Practices Survey opens May 2
This message was sent to executive, deans and other senior academic leaders, academic heads, directors and managers in Vancouver and the Okanagan.
April 24, 2023
From May 2 to 30, UBC will be running its third Teaching Practices Survey to better understand how faculty members, as well as those who teach, structure learning for students. The survey, which is conducted every four years, also offers an opportunity to provide confidential feedback on teaching practices and perceptions of the teaching climate in Vancouver and the Okanagan.
Faculty members who held a teaching appointment in the last academic year will receive an email invitation on May 2 to participate in the survey. Participation this year is especially important as the teaching environment at UBC has changed substantively since the last survey in 2018. Survey feedback will be used to inform UBC’s strategic priorities, as well as help leadership understand how best to support teaching in the future.
For more information, including results from the 2018 survey and additional details regarding privacy, visit the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology website.
We hope that you will encourage your faculty members and those who teach to engage in this important initiative.
