Reconnect with colleagues at the Welcome Back BBQ

The Welcome Back BBQ is back again this year in Vancouver and the Okanagan.  It is a chance for faculty and staff to enjoy a complementary BBQ lunch, live entertainment and build connections with colleagues and community partners.

Previously a staff-only event in Vancouver, this year's BBQ will bring both faculty and staff together for the first time.

The event will be held on Aug. 29 at UBC Okanagan, and on Sept. 11 at UBC Vancouver.

    Grants worth $300 are available for faculty and staff in Vancouver and the Okanagan who wish to host events that promote mental health during November, which is Thrive month at UBC. During the annual, month-long mental health initiative the UBC community is encouraged to learn about, talk about, and explore ways to support our mental health.

    Four UBC-led projects awarded $21.5 million to develop sustainable agriculture solutions

    Four projects led by UBC researchers have been awarded a combined $21.5 million to support a sustainable agriculture and agri-food sector in a net-zero economy.The research teams and projects are supported by grants awarded through the NSERC-SSHRC Sustainable Agriculture Research Initiative, a joint initiative between the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, in collaboration with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
