Apply to the Green Labs Fund by March 19

Do you have a creative idea to make your lab or research activity more sustainable?

The Green Labs Fund promotes and supports sustainability in labs across our campuses. Faculty, staff and students from UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan are invited to apply to receive up to $4,000 to implement an innovative project.

As a research-intensive university with some 400 labs on campus, UBC consumes a significant amount of energy, water and materials for conducting world-class research. UBC lab buildings account for approximately 49 per cent of campus energy use, 24 per cent of campus water use, and 96 per cent of total hazardous waste generated.

The deadline to submit your application is March 19.

    Announcing the 2023/24 Community-University Engagement Support fund recipients

    This year, the Community-University Engagement Support (CUES) fund awarded over $700,000 to 30 projects between community partners and UBC students, faculty and staff across BC. These partnerships are aimed at benefiting communities and advancing collaborative research, teaching and learning. With awards of up to $25,000 each, CUES funding is paid directly to community partners, prioritizing reciprocal, inclusive engagement, which ensures all communities—especially those historically, persistently, or systemically marginalized—can benefit.
