Advance your research while supporting student workplace learning

UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan faculty members can receive $6,000 in wage subsidies to hire Canadian undergraduate students full time during summer 2024, fall 2024 or winter 2025 by submitting a proposal through the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Undergraduate Student Research Awards program. The program allows faculty to further their research while supporting students in their workplace learning goals.
Faculty members are required to hold an active NSERC grant from the research grant list. Faculties/Schools have the ability to endorse non-NSERC grant holders to apply for the award, on the approval of the Associate Dean or appropriate designate.
Faculty members and students must apply together. Application deadlines vary by faculty and range from January 24 – March 15, 2024.
