UBC Vancouver – Possible impacts of Metro Vancouver transit strike
January 15, 2024
Coast Mountain Bus Company transit supervisors have begun strike action with a ban on working overtime, which is resulting in some bus delays and cancellations.
Although strike action has commenced, the university is operating as normal. Classes are proceeding and faculty and staff are expected to attend work.
At this time, there is no significant impact to transit services. However, we recognize that many students, faculty and staff rely on public transit. As a result, UBC has established a working group to monitor the situation and is exploring ways to help mitigate the potential impact on students, faculty and staff, in the event of significant disruption.
If the strike action escalates, status updates and resources will be shared at https://www.ubc.ca
