Progress update on the implementation of institutional equity and anti-racism priorities
This message was sent to executive, deans and other senior academic leaders, academic heads, directors and managers, and senior professional leaders in Vancouver and the Okanagan.
June 13, 2024
I would like to invite you and your team members to attend a virtual information session on June 25 to learn more about UBC’s efforts, ongoing initiatives and progress in implementing equity and anti-racism priorities.
In June 2023, the university launched the Strategic Equity and Anti-Racism Roadmap for Change to guide implementation of priorities and evaluation of progress. I am now pleased to announce the release of an inaugural report on the progress of institutional and unit-level implementation efforts across Vancouver and the Okanagan. The report provides an update on institutional indicators of change, the status of institutional strategic actions, an inventory of decentralized efforts and strategic learnings gained over the last year.
Read the full announcement at equity.ubc.ca/stearupdate, and access the report at equity.ubc.ca/stearreport
Join me to learn more about the work done so far, as well as our future plans. Register for an upcoming progress update session and find out more at equity.ubc.ca/stearsessions
Please note that we are also holding four additional sessions to specifically engage with historically, persistently and systemically marginalized groups.
Thank you for supporting this important work.
