Call for applications: Join UBC’s Accessibility Committee

June 9, 2025

UBC’s Accessibility Committee is inviting faculty, staff, and students on both campuses to apply to become members. Applicants should have lived experience of disability or be actively engaged in accessibility and disability advocacy.

Ten 'at-large' positions are available through this open call (to be comprised of two faculty, two staff, and two students). In addition, the UBC Executive will appoint seven members for key offices and appoint three student leaders representing the Alma Mater Society (AMS), Graduate Student Society (GSS), and Students’ Union of Okanagan (SUO).

The committee, which is currently in its third year, works to guide the development and implementation of UBC’s accessibility plan; provides input on identifying and removing barriers to accessibility; and advises on emerging priorities and practices in accessibility and disability justice. Apply by July 8
