Announcing Research Excellence Clusters at UBC Vancouver

The Office of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation is pleased to announce that a total of 35 emerging and established research excellence clusters led by researchers on the Vancouver campus will be supported in 2021/22. This total includes 24 awards made through the 2021/22 Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters Competition (GCRC) and eleven clusters entering the second year of their current award.

Research Excellence Clusters are interdisciplinary networks of researchers focused on solving key challenges facing society, and are a key component of Strategy 6 of the Strategic Plan in support of Research Excellence. The GCRC was jointly created by the Vice-President, Research & Innovation and the Provost & Vice-President, Academic and is supported by UBC’s Academic Excellence Funds.
