UBCBulletin Updates for leadership

Learn about IRP Student at a Sept. 29 virtual town hall

This message was sent to executive, deans and other senior academic leaders, academic heads, directors and managers, and senior professional leaders in Vancouver and the Okanagan.

9 September, 2021

As you are aware, the university recently completed major renewal projects related to our Human Resources and Finance systems under the Integrated Renewal Program (IRP). This resulted in the launch of Workday, a significant step forward in modernizing our learning, research, and working environments at UBC.

Thank you to the many individuals who have contributed their time and expertise in support of the IRP thus far. The strong and ongoing involvement by academic leadership in this process has bolstered our ability to move through this change. As with the renewal of our HR and Finance systems, our success with the next stage of the IRP will come through continued engagement and partnership with the UBC community.

The IRP Student is underway

Following approval from UBC’s Board of Governors in June, work is underway for the next phase of the IRP — modernizing the university’s student information ecosystem. The target timeline for implementation is the 2023/24 academic year.

The IRP Student ecosystem renewal is a critical investment in UBC’s future. Anchored in Workday, it will:

  • provide a digital experience that meets our students’ expectations
  • improve support for our academic mission
  • mitigate any potential operational and security risks associated with our legacy student information system

Learn more at the IRP Student Town Hall

We are inviting all members of the UBC community to attend the virtual IRP Student Town Hall on September 29. You will hear from UBC leadership and learn more about the university's journey to a new student information ecosystem. The event will also give you a first look at Workday Student and provide an opportunity for questions and answers. Please encourage your teams to attend as you see appropriate.
