    In recent weeks, we have heard from students regarding their concerns related to affordability and food insecurity. The global recession and inflation, at a 40-year high, is causing financial challenges for many members of the UBC community and putting pressure on all areas of the university.

    Leadership update – Faculty of Dentistry

    I wish to announce that Dr. Mary MacDougall has informed me of her decision to step down as Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry next August, when her pro tem term comes to an end.  On behalf of the university, I would like to thank Dr. MacDougall for her steady leadership and for the key role she has played in the many successes and achievements of the Faculty of Dentistry over the past five years.

    2022 marks the 72nd year that the University of British Columbia has hosted a Remembrance Day ceremony.     Call for nominations: West Coast Teaching Excellence Awards

    If you know a faculty member who is committed to teaching excellence in Vancouver or the Okanagan, nominate them for a West Coast Teaching Excellence Award. Hosted by the British Columbia Teaching and Learning Council (BC and Yukon), this award recognizes excellence in postsecondary teaching, primarily at the undergraduate level. Each institution can submit up to two nominees per year and the BCTLC will select up to five recipien
