    Announcing Research Excellence Clusters at UBC Vancouver

    A total of 40 emerging and established Research Excellence Clusters led by researchers on the Vancouver campus will be supported in 2022/23. This total includes 27 awards made through the 2022/23 Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters Competition (GCRC) and 13 clusters entering the second year of their current award.

    Mourning the loss of Harmandeep Kaur

    A message from Lesley Cormack, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Principal, UBC Okanagan Dear campus community, As most of you now know, we have been mourning the loss this week of a member of the Campus Security team, Harmandeep Kaur. I’d like to again express our profound sorrow to her family and friends and to offer our support at this very difficult time.

    Inviting proposals for the 2022 Continuous Learning Advancement Fund

    The Continuous Learning Advancement Fund (CLAF) supports the creation, renewal and expansion of non-degree learning opportunities at UBC Vancouver. Initially launched in 2019 as the Online Learning Advancement Fund, CLAF’s renewed focus is on growing UBC Vancouver’s capacity to serve continuous learners in British Columbia.

    Update on campus incident

    A message from Lesley Cormack, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Principal, UBC Okanagan Dear campus community, I want to update you on an incident that took place on our campus over the weekend. One of our security personnel was assaulted by a worker in the University Centre building. We were informed that the guard succumbed to her injuries. To protect her privacy and that of her family, we are not identifying her at this time. This is the kind of communication with our community that I hoped never to have to deliver.
