Announcing the 2020/2021 Community-University Engagement Support (CUES) funding recipients

26 April, 2021

Community-University Engagement Support (CUES) provides funding for charitable organizations in British Columbia to build partnerships and pursue shared projects with UBC.

Each year, the university awards $500,000 to projects that directly support community partnerships — an approach that helps remove financial barriers for organizations, and supports those who are often underserved, marginalized, or excluded

CUES enables truly reciprocal relationships because the projects that receive funding are driven by community needs and priorities, and lead to enhanced community wellbeing. At the same time, including partner perspectives enhances research and makes learning experiences more meaningful.

CUES distributes funds in two project streams: the Explore stream helps establish new partnerships, and the Sustain stream helps fill resource gaps experienced by existing collaborators. To date, CUES has supported 54 community-engaged projects with a total of $1.23M in funding. Projects have involved multiple faculties at both UBC campuses.
