UBC implements vaccine declaration and rapid testing for COVID-19

This week the Provincial Health Officer, the Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Training, and the Minister of Education announced a new Public Health Order relating to the wearing of non-medical masks in public indoor settings, for K-12 and post-secondary institutions, along with other public health safety measures. 

The Order requiring non-medical masks came into effect on August 25, 2021 for all indoor public areas on both UBC campuses, including classrooms, labs, lobbies, hallways, stairwells, and elevators. The Order also applies to anyone taking public transportation, in a taxi or ride-sharing vehicle, and in many other settings. UBC Okanagan is subject to an additional regional Public Health Order which was updated on August 20, 2021.

    Each year, the President’s staff awards recognize and celebrate staff members who have demonstrated outstanding achievement and excellence within the UBC community, and who enable UBC to shape the future of research, teaching, and work.Nominations for exceptional staff may be submitted by faculty, staff, and students. More than 1,600 participants took part, contributing over 5,900 ideas.
