Describe what you do at UBC in 10 words or less:
COGS advising/admissions; hiring TAs/sessional instructors; course scheduling; budgeting; alumni relations/Tri-Mentoring
What is the best thing about your work/role at UBC?
Working with so many people who are passionate about cultivating a healthy learning environment for students! That, and being regularly inspired by the creativity, ambition, and growth demonstrated by students in the COGS program.
What trait do you most admire in others?
I admire people who are able to address complex situations head-on, acknowledging the reality of difficult truths with a calm, warm-hearted demeanor.
What do you do regularly to invest in your mental and/or physical health?
To me, mental/physical health are one and the same! Neglecting one impacts the other. I try to exercise a few times a week (yoga, jogging, hiking), eat healthy foods (incorporating treats as-needed), spend time with loved ones, and ensure I'm taking advantage of personal downtime to unwind/relax (e.g. getting a massage, playing music, taking photos, reading).
