What is the best thing about your work/role at UBC?

The best part of my work must be the group of amazing people I work with. I believe the quality of your relationships determines the quality of your life. Having people I can lean on at work makes the workplace so much more rewarding. I appreciate the inclusive and diverse work environment that UBC offers, which enriches my life experiences and broadens my perspective on life.

What trait do you most admire in others?

I have a lot of respect for people who have been through tough times yet maintain a positive outlook on life. Being able to find the good in every situation and treat each obstacle as a valuable lesson are qualities I admire—and the kind of people I strive to surround myself with.

What do you do regularly to invest in your mental and/or physical health?

I like to start my day with a nutritious smoothie that contains more than ten healthy ingredients. I also take my daily multivitamins and probiotics. I check in with myself regularly to ensure I’m not overly stressed or exhausted. If I am, I slow down and give myself time to recharge by spending time in nature. To me, a good cry can also help release built-up emotions and bring a sense of relief.

What is one of the most meaningful lessons you have learned?

Very often, when you don’t rush through life, you end up going farther.
