    UBC Vancouver – call for proposals for teaching-related funding opportunities

    We are pleased to invite proposals for a number of teaching-related funding opportunities this fall, in support of advancing UBC’s academic mission. This year, we have expanded our scope of funding by launching a new call for ‘Students as Partners’ in course design. Your support in encouraging UBC Vancouver faculty, staff and students to apply for these opportunities would be greatly appreciated.

    Learn about IRP Student at a Sept. 29 virtual town hall

    As you are aware, the university recently completed major renewal projects related to our Human Resources and Finance systems under the Integrated Renewal Program (IRP). This resulted in the launch of Workday, a significant step forward in modernizing our learning, research, and working environments at UBC.

    Killam Accelerator Research Fellowships and Faculty Research Awards — call for nominations

    We are happy to advise that nominations are now open for the annual UBC Faculty Research Awards and for the Killam Accelerator Research Fellowship (KARF). These awards acknowledge research excellence across all disciplines at UBC.  Recognition at the university level can lead to increased opportunity at a national and international level. We also strongly encourage you to consider equity, diversity and inclusion principles in your nominations.  Submission process for 2021:

    Extension of appointment of Dr. Pamela Ratner, Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Faculty Planning

    I am pleased to announce that the Board of Governors has approved the extension of appointment of Dr. Pamela Ratner as Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Faculty Planning at UBC Vancouver for a second five-year term, commencing July 1, 2021.  As Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Faculty Planning, Dr. Ratner is responsible for the academic leadership of enrolment planning and management, stewardship of existing and new academic space and capital projects, and has a role in the university budget planning.
