Announcing the appointment of new Dean, Peter A. Allard School of Law

This message was sent to executive, deans and other senior academic leaders, academic heads, directors and managers in Vancouver and the Okanagan.

I am pleased to announce that Professor Ngai Pindell has been appointed as the new Dean of the Peter A. Allard School of Law for a five-year term commencing no later than November 1, 2021.

Professor Pindell is currently International Gaming Institute Professor of Law in the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He has held a number of academic administrative roles at UNLV, most recently as Vice Provost and Special Advisor to the Executive Vice President and Provost. Prior to this he served as Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, and as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, and Vice Dean in the Boyd School of Law.

With a deep commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and anti-racism, Professor Pindell is currently a Governor-appointed Commissioner for the Nevada Equal Rights Commission (NERC) and a recent appointee to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). He has also served on further committees and boards, and brings with him a host of leadership skills.
