Update on UBC’s Budget for the 2021/22 fiscal year

The 2020/21 fiscal year was unprecedented and challenging in many ways for our community as UBC navigated the effects of COVID-19, along with other higher education institutions across Canada and around the world.  In that context, and enabled by the knowledge and experience gained through the past year, our finance teams across the university have worked hard to prepare the 2021/22 budget. The proposed budget was formally presented to UBC’s Board of Governors today, and we are pleased to announce that it has been approved.

UBCO researchers find a new use for waste

Pulp mill waste hits the road instead of the landfill Waste materials from the pulp and paper industry have long been seen as possible fillers for building products like cement, but for years these materials have ended up in the landfill.
