Nominations are now open for 2023/24 UBC Okanagan teaching awards:Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence and InnovationThis award recognizes up to two awards for faculty members with continuing appointments and one award for instructors holding a full or part time limited-term appointment. Nominations for this award are accepted from students, faculty, deans, unit heads, staff and alumni.

Announcing the reappointment of Dr. Ainsley Carry as Vice-President, Students
A message from Deborah Buszard, Interim President and Vice-Chancellor I am pleased to announce that Dr. Ainsley Carry has been reappointed Vice-President, Students, for a second term starting April 1, 2024. Dr. Carry joined UBC in 2019, and has made many notable achievements during his first term. A passionate advocate for students, he led the restructure of the VP Students portfolio to elevate student health and career services.

Announcing the 2024/25 Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters Competition
We are pleased to announce the 2024/25 Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters (GCRC) Competition. The competition is open to new and returning clusters of research excellence in all disciplines on the Vancouver campus. Applicants may select a budget term of one or two years. Cluster leads must submit a notice of intent by November 1, 2023.

Call for proposals for Open Educational Resource Grants
Faculty and staff at UBC Vancouver are invited to submit proposals for grants that support the use of open educational resources (OER) in UBC credit courses. OER are teaching and learning materials that are openly licensed to permit free access as well as adaptation and sharing. Since 2019, UBC has provided over $825,000 in OER grant funding for 79 projects across nine Faculties. There are two grant pathways: OER Affordability Grants

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTLT) Winter Institute is a platform for the teaching and learning community to create and optimize learning environments. Faculty and staff from a broad range of backgrounds and expertise are invited to share best practices and research around teaching, learning and technology. Submit a proposal by October 13.
