What work achievement are you most proud of?
Closely collaborating with settlement organizations and UBC partner units on public events, an opera, and a filmmaking campaign to amplify refugee and migrant voices over the past five years. Our Community-UBC Refugee & Migration Working Group connects members from across sectors and agencies to work collectively to inform public knowledge, practice, and research.
What is your favourite quote and why?
“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.” ― Arundhati Roy. I love how Roy evokes a different, more inclusive world, and infuses optimism that we are getting there.
What do you do regularly to invest in your mental and/or physical health?
Bird watching on campus and around my home is a great way to diminish stress, clear my mind, and delight in the wonders of bird life! From Barred Owls perched outside of MOA to migrating Yellow-rumped Warblers, our city is host to an array of fascinating birds.
