Name:
Gregory Garrard
Title:
Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research
Department/Unit:
English and Cultural Studies
Location:
Okanagan
Year I started working at UBC:
2013
10 words or less to describe what I do at UBC:
Associate Dean of Research, environmental and animal literature expert.
The best thing about my work/role at UBC:
Incredible opportunities for collaboration and support for interdisciplinary research.
My favourite place to spend my lunch hour:
At home in the garden with my Sheltie. Second place: outside the fish taco van, when it's on campus.
My top UBC tip for my colleagues, or for someone beginning their UBC journey:
The Okanagan campus, like the city of Kelowna, hasn't yet decided what it's going to be about. That can be disappointing initially to arrivals from elsewhere, but it's also a tremendous opportunity.
