Describe what you do at UBC in 10 words or less:
Designing microwave resonators based sensors targeting complex real-world application-oriented problems
What is the best thing about your work/role at UBC?
Working as a postdoctoral researcher in OMEGA Lab at UBCO, my exposure to diverse research areas within the microwave engineering and problem solving skills are significantly increased owing to multidimensional involvement in research activities and collaboration with other research groups. Teamwork efforts are amazing. I would say, grooming, polishing and unending learning!
What trait do you most admire in others?
Commitment within a group/community as well as to oneself, the compound effect of which eventually leads to a success/satisfaction!
What do you do to ensure a healthy/work life balance?
I have a slightly different opinion compared to commonplace. The researchers/scientists/professors go beyond a work life balance strategy and yes, their health and/or social life may suffer at some point in their lives but eventually, intellectual satisfaction is rewarding what they were looking for. In addition, the outcomes/benefits are shared among the research community and the whole society.
