What is the best thing about your work/role at UBC?

Working with the campus community. Okanagan is a small campus which allows opportunities to get to know each other and build relationships. I enjoy the teaching aspect of educating people about finance, especially those who struggle. I also actively read about research projects and find it thrilling that I could be one small part to "enable greatness." I also have a great Finance team!

What is your favourite quote and why?

"Go out into the world today and love the people you meet. Let your presence light new light in the hearts of people" by Mother Teresa – Everyone has their own strengths that may not be the same as mine. We all deserve acceptance, love, no judgement, kindness and to be able to be ourselves in each moment.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

I enjoy the outdoors, being active, connecting with friends/family, solitude, reading. I'm a new grandma so have found that my heart is full for this new member of our family! I'm a naturally curious person so I will read about things I'm curious about, or participate in a presentation on campus, especially about medical research.
