If you are building a science innovation, disruptive technology, social venture or climate solution, entrepreneurship @ UBC helps UBC founders execute on their ideas by focusing on customer discovery, competitive analysis, problem validation and product-market fit. entrepreneurship @ UBC incubates over 100 ventures annually, producing skilled entrepreneurs with validated business models who are ready to take their venture to the next level. Faculty and staff may apply for venture building programs by February 25.

Submit staff sick leave statistics for 2020 (by Jan. 29, 2021)
Every year, Human Resources presents the Board of Governors with a report on key health indicators at the university. The report provides a snapshot of the health of our faculty and staff, which includes statistics on the average number of paid sick leave days taken by staff. In preparation for this year’s report, we request that you ensure your department’s administrator enters sick leave statistics for the 2020 calendar year by Friday, January 29, 2021.

COVID-19 vaccines: what to expect and how to combat hesitancy
With the arrival of the first COVID-19 vaccines in Canada, most are eager to roll up their sleeves. But not every Canadian is feeling confident about getting the jab. According to a recent survey conducted by Angus Reid, less than two thirds of Canadians surveyed said they would get the vaccine right away. Twenty-three per cent indicated they would prefer to wait, while 12 per cent reported they would not get vaccinated and five per cent remained unsure.
