Name another staff or faculty member you admire and why
Dr. Joana Gil-Mohapel is the Director of Curriculum, UBC Medical Undergraduate Program and Faculty Lecturer in the Island Medical Program and Division of Neurology. Joana is purposeful, a system thinker, a medical education influencer, and responsive. She’s approachable, knowledgeable, friendly, and an effective communicator with the ethos that it's always worth seeking equity in organizing, resourcing, supporting and delivering meaningful medical education. Her superpower is relationship-building, though she has many superpowers since she can balance and juggle it all!

Integrity. A good sense of humour is a close second!
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I am honoured to serve as a volunteer member of the Squamish Search and Rescue team, lending a hand to lost or injured persons and I love spending time with friends and family. It nourishes and sustains my spirit!
