New ‘Staff in Focus’ series launched on UBC Today

We are pleased to announce the launch of ‘Staff in focus’ – a new series highlighting our staff members and their work at the university.    

Applications open for the UBC Wellbeing Strategic Initiative Fund

As a faculty or staff member, you can apply for a UBC Wellbeing Strategic Initiative Fund before July 9. These funds are granted to departments and units in Vancouver and the Okanagan to support the university's commitment to the Okanagan Charter to become a health and wellbeing-promoting institution, as outlined in UBC's Wellbeing Strategic Framework. 

Celebrating the 2024 Banting Postdoctoral Fellows

Nine UBC postdoctoral researchers have received Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships.The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships is a program that provides federal government funding to the best national and international postdoctoral applicants who will positively contribute to Canada’s economic, social, and research-based growth. Fellowships are awarded to post-doctoral researchers who are considered are part of Canada’s next generation of research leaders.UBC's new Banting scholars are:

Apply for the 2024 Partnership Recognition and Exploration Fund

Applications are now open for the 2024 Partnership Recognition and Exploration (PRE) Fund. The PRE Fund awards up to $1,500 in funding to support collaboration and help build reciprocal relationships between community partners and UBC students, faculty, and staff. This year, there is a total of $50,000 to fund up to 33 community-university projects.Faculty and staff are invited to apply for funding until December 31, 2024, or until available funds are exhausted. Visit the Community Engagement website for more information on how to apply and useful FAQs.

UBC Vancouver – Call for proposals for the 2024 Winter Session Work Learn program

The UBC Career Centre Work Learn program funds approximately 3,500 part-time hourly appointments each year, subsidizing meaningful work experiences for current UBC Vancouver students.If you have a work opportunity to help students develop their professional skills and contribute to a work environment, submit a proposal to the Work Learn program for winter 2024 employment opportunities (September 1, 2024 – April 30, 2025) by June 17.
