Kristin Kozar appointed Executive Director of the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre
Kristin Kozar has been appointed Executive Director of the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre. A member of the Hwlitsum First Nation, Kristin has been interim Executive Director since 2022 and has co-led the Oral Testimony project and partnered with the Stó:lō Research and Resource Management Centre on a research project examining the legacy of Indian hospitals in BC and Alberta. She is particularly passionate about Indigenous rights to information and data sovereignty.

Genetic testing could greatly benefit patients with depression, save health system millions
A special kind of genetic test that helps determine the best antidepressant for patients with moderate-to-severe depression could generate substantive health system savings and greatly improve patient outcomes, according to new research from the University of British Columbia.The study, published today in CMAJ, shows that in B.C. alone, implementing pharmacogenomic testing could save the provincial public health system an estimated $956 million over 20 years.
