Describe what you do at UBC in 10 words or less :
Examine where we can embed equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) within UBC’s research environment.
Tell us about the team you work with – what do they do?
UBC’s Dimensions team is conducting an institutional review of data, policies, practices and initiatives to identify barriers and inequities experienced by historically marginalized equity-deserving groups in our research environment. This will inform an action plan aiming to address the barriers, increase equitable and inclusive participation in research, and embed EDI considerations in research design and practices across UBC.
What trait do you most admire in others?
Kindness, because it improves individual and communal wellbeing. It is rewarding to all and contributes to a healthy, positive and inclusive environment.
What do you do regularly to invest in your mental and/or physical health?
I maintain a positive attitude always and try to feed my mind with positive content. In addition, I’m embracing an appreciation for nature, engaging in physical activities, maintaining a healthy diet, and enjoying lots of humour.
