UBC’s spring 2025 graduation ceremonies will take place on the Vancouver campus from May 21-29 and on the Okanagan campus from June 5-6 with more than 12,000 students celebrating this important milestone.Get involved by volunteering to support the event. As a volunteer, you will play an instrumental role in making the experience memorable for everyone.A number of volunteering opportunities are available for faculty and staff during the graduation ceremonies on both campuses and at the Alumni Welcome Receptions at the Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre.

Gady Jacoby
Professor Gady Jacoby was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Management at UBC’s Okanagan campus in July 2024. Prior to joining the university, he held the BMO Professorship in Finance at the University of Manitoba, where he also served as Dean of the I.H. Asper School of Business from 2018-2021. He is former Dean of the School of Economics at the College of Management Academic Studies in Israel.A scholar of finance, Professor Jacoby’s research has been extensively published. He is Associate Editor, Subject Editor and Advisory Board member for five quality academic peer-reviewed Finance journals and is chair of multiple international conferences. Professor Jacoby is a five-time funding recipient from Canada’s social sciences and humanities federal research funding agency.He has a vision for a Faculty that tackles global challenges and seizes emerging opportunities. Through collaboration with the UBC community and the business sector, Professor Jacoby is working to ensure the Faculty of Management is a place where innovation thrives and which produces bold, responsible leaders.

Appointment of Dr. Mark MacLachlan, Dean, Faculty of Science
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Mark MacLachlan has been appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Science for a five-year term, commencing April 1, 2025.Dr. MacLachlan, Professor of Chemistry and Canada Research Chair in Supramolecular Materials, has served as Dean pro tem for the Faculty of Science since January 1, 2024.
